A repair to a critical system that entails the customer to service their customers. This job was done with time as a factor. I flew into the country and effected the repair in the evening and flew out the next morning.
A solution to assist in the migration strategy of the customer to move from their current Solaris 9 environment to newer hardware and newer operating system. The solution entailed deployment of Solaris 10 on newer hardware and a Solaris 9 Branded Virtual Zone deployed on this system so that the customer can migrate their current in-house application and have a platform for Sandbox development for upward mobility.
Total validation of the entire environment and performed the steps to configure Automatic Image Replication to turn both site to Hot Site with Pure Disk replication across the W.A.N. to ensure nearstore capabilities to bring the P.I.T. backups at the closest timed snapshot.
A solution to have multisite integration into one holistic backup solution to ensure that there is sustainability across the customers newer environment and also bring in a high level of self sustaining backup policies.
A solution to assist in the migration strategy of the customer to move from their current Solaris 8 environment to newer hardware and newer operating system. The solution entailed deployment of Solaris 10 on newer hardware and a Solaris 8 Branded Virtual Zone deployed on this system so that the customer can migrate their current in-house application and database on Oracle 9i and have a platform for Sandbox development for upward mobility.
Total validation of the entire Hot and Cold environment and performed the steps to configure Automatic Image Replication to turn both site to Hot Site with Pure Disk replication across the W.A.N. to ensure nearstore capabilities to bring the P.I.T. backups at the closest timed snapshot.
Total validation of the entire Hot and Cold environment and performed the steps to upgrade Server from 6.5.5 to 7.1 and the index.htmltenance patch to 7.1.0.2 and the client upgrades to 7.1 encompassing the Windows and Red Hat Linux 2.6 clients.
Assisted the Team with Production and Secondary Site Build out. This solution comprised a number of Technology levels to encompass the M4000 and the Netra T3-1 and T5220. It brought into play the need for zfs file systems and Solaris 10 zones.
Implementation utilizing best practice methodology. Total build out of all Sun/Oracle hardware and the implementation of Sun Clusters on six (6) nodes varying from standard Nodal Clusters to advanced Zone Failover High Availability clusters. The solution also included creation of zone containers and the configuration of the NTP and SMTP relays for synchronization. The infrastructure was signed off by Crimson Logic’s Engineering Representative as being as per requirements and special cudos were given for assistance with the bringing of the third party applications under the Sun Clustering Infrastructure.
Creation of the Bill of Materials as well as Subject Matter Expert tasked with development of the solution documentation and implementation of solution, utilizing best practice as a guideline following I.D.B.M.’s methodology.
Assisted in the testing of the I.A.P. 3 and 4 solutions for the customer that would facilitate the proper failsafe and load balancing so that slow responses or timeouts would not occur.
Implemented the First Phase of a broader middleware application that the customer is in the process of implementing. This being the case having to fly in and perform the three (3) day task in one (1) day as well as having the customer evaluate and sign off for completion.
Designed and Implemented sections for the SAN and Backup. The SAN infrastructure comprised of High availability Hitachi AMS2100 with Dual Brocade paths. The backup was Symantec NetBackup Enterprise Solution fibre connected to a SL48 via dual paths through the SAN Fabric.
Designed High Level Solution for Symantec NetBackup Enterprise Solution to give high availability over multiple sites and give possibility for off island configuration to allow sustained integrity of solution in times of natural disaster.
Designed high level and Low level solution for implementation of new equipment into their environment. The solution is designed to virtualize their current infrastructure into the new equipment and give customer sufficient time to migrate to a parallel solution running on high revision software.
Sun StorEdge 6920 SAN Dual site Fiber Interconnect –for Data sharing and possible replication. This included configuration of Fabric switches to perform I.S.L. through Dark Fiber over a distance of slightly under 10KM. And configured the SAN to recognize each other and facilitate pass through to host.
